Common Questions

Stream and payment help

Where do I renew my stream? +

Renewals are handled in-world at a Shock Streams terminal. Touch the terminal, choose Renew, select the service you want to extend, then choose the rental term.

I paid, but I did not receive a private message. +

Second Life private IM delivery can occasionally be delayed or capped. If your payment completed and no message arrived, contact support with your Second Life legacy name, Service # if you have it, and the approximate payment time.

How do I get my stream details again? +

Use Stream Info at a Shock Streams terminal. The terminal will request a private in-world message with your stream details. For your safety, passwords are not shown directly in terminal dialogs.

What happens if my stream is suspended? +

A suspended stream is past due but may still be renewable during the grace period. Renewing during that period can restore service automatically after payment is processed.

Account Help

Login and verification

How do I create a website login? +

Choose Login, then Don't have an account? Enter your Second Life legacy name and Shock Streams will send a private in-world verification code to your avatar.

What if I forgot my password? +

Use the password reset option on the login form. Shock Streams sends a private in-world code to your verified Second Life avatar before allowing a password reset.

Why does support ask for my legacy name? +

Your Second Life legacy name and avatar UUID are the identity used by the terminal, Relay, and customer portal. Display names are not used because they can change.

Connection Reminder

Your stream details matter

Most broadcast software asks for the same basic details: server host, port, password, and sometimes server type. Choose SHOUTcast v1 as the server type. For streams without AutoDJ, use your source password. For AutoDJ streams, use CentovaCast Quick Links and your DJ account details.

01 Guide

How To Set Up CentovaCast AutoDJ

AutoDJ lets your stream keep playing music when a live DJ is not connected. Use this guide after your Shock Streams AutoDJ plan has been created and your CentovaCast details have been sent privately in-world.

Before You Start

  • AutoDJ must be included on your stream plan.
  • You need your CentovaCast panel link, username, and panel password.
  • Your CentovaCast login details are sent privately in-world after setup. You can also request them again from a Shock Streams terminal using Stream Info.
  • MP3 files are recommended for AutoDJ because they use disk space efficiently and work best with Second Life viewers.

Enable AutoDJ

  1. 1 Log into the CentovaCast control panel using your panel username and panel password.
  2. 2 AutoDJ usually needs the stream server stopped before it can be enabled. Under Server, click Stop on the left side of the control panel.
  3. 3 Under Configuration, click Settings.
  4. 4 Click the AutoDJ tab.
  5. 5 Change AutoDJ Status to Enabled.
  6. 6 Click Update near the bottom of the page. After the page updates, the AutoDJ options should appear.

Upload music

  1. 1 Under AutoDJ, click Files.
  2. 2 Make sure the media folder is selected near the top-left of the file manager.
  3. 3 At the bottom of the page, click Upload.
  4. 4 Click Select Files and choose the audio files from your computer. MP3 is recommended for best Second Life compatibility.
  5. 5 After selecting your files, click Open and wait for the uploads to finish. Large uploads can take time, so let the page complete before leaving.

Create playlists and start the stream

  1. 1 After your music finishes uploading to the media folder, click Return at the bottom-left to return to the main menu.
  2. 2 Under AutoDJ, click Media to open the Media Library.
  3. 3 Choose an artist, then choose an album, then select the songs you want to use.
  4. 4 Drag songs into the playlist you want AutoDJ to play.
  5. 5 Disable any playlist that does not have music in it. You can usually right-click the playlist and choose Disable.
  6. 6 To create, edit, or manage playlists, click Manage Playlists, then click Edit next to the playlist you want to change.
  7. 7 Once music has been added to a playlist, click Return, then under Server click Start. Your AutoDJ music should begin streaming.

Things To Know

  • If AutoDJ options do not appear, make sure your stream is stopped and that your Shock Streams plan includes AutoDJ.
  • Do not share your panel password or source password in public chat.
  • Empty playlists can make AutoDJ behave in confusing ways, so disable playlists you are not using.
  • Avoid changing the default mount point format unless Shock Streams support tells you to. The stream is preset for Second Life viewer compatibility.

Contact Support If

  • You do not see the AutoDJ tab.
  • Your music uploads but does not appear in the media library.
  • The server will not start after enabling AutoDJ.
  • AutoDJ starts but plays silence or skips tracks.
